Alright! Housekeeping is all done, let's get into some easy, healthy breakfast ideas that will help you mix things up while staying on track!
Overnight Oats: mix 1/2 cup dry oats with 1 cup almond milk or yogurt of choice. Add in more variety with chopped nuts, fresh or dried fruit, protein powder, chia seeds, or other additives! Refrigerate overnight for a thick, pudding-like treat in the morning! (macros for 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup almond milk, & 1 scoop protein: 30p 5f 30c)
Protein Pancakes: mix 1 scoop of protein with 1 egg and a splash of water, cook like a pancake! Option two: mix 1 cup egg whites with 1/2 cup oats, stevia and cinnamon and cook like a pancake! (macros for 1 scoop protein and 1 egg: 30p 7f 2c)
Egg Bites: whisk up some eggs (1 per muffin tin), seasoning, bell pepper, and bacon then pour it into a muffin tin. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and refrigerate for easy access! (macros for 1 egg bite: 6p 7f 2c)
Protein smoothie: blend 1 cup ice, 1 cup water, 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp peanut butter, and 1 scoop protein. Use milk instead of water for added creaminess. Play around with other fruits such as 1/2 cup berries, or use greek yogurt instead of protein powder! (macros for 1 smoothie with protein, water, 1/2 banana, and 1 tbsp peanut butter: 30p 15c 8f)
McDonald's Style Breakfast Sandwich: cook 1 egg (scramble or over-easy), add 1 slice thick, warm ham or bacon, add 1 slice cheese, and assemble in a toasted english muffin. (macros: 30c 12p 13f)
Protein French Toast: Dip 2 slices whole-grain bread into 1/2 cup egg whites mixed with stevia and cinnamon. Cook on a medium skillet, 2 minutes each side. Top with 1/2 cup freshly melted berries. (macros: 40c 15p 3f)
Protein Cereal: Mix 1 serving special K (or any low-sugar cereal you like) with a protein shake (water + protein powder, or milk + protein powder) (macros for water based protein shake: 30c 30p 5f)
I hope one of those ideas strikes your fancy and inspires you to mix it up tomorrow morning with something new! Email me back if you can think of another fun, healthy, high-protein breakfast that others should try!
